๐๏ธ Straight talk
No fine print, no jargon. Here is exactly what happens to your records and your account โ in plain English.
Your records are yours
Export everything in one download, any time you want. The archive opens in any web browser โ no Family Stork, no internet, and no account needed โ and it's free, always. If we disappeared tomorrow, your family's whole history would still open on your own laptop.
Leaving takes one click
Delete a single record, or your entire account, yourself โ right in the app. No email to send, no waiting, no "contact support," no tricks to talk you out of it. We make leaving easy on purpose. That is the whole point. (If you're holding records for others, you'll hand those off or delete them first โ they belong to those people, not to us.)
What "delete" actually deletes
- Everything you stored โ records, documents, photos, and your sign-in โ is permanently removed from Family Stork.
- The AI that reads your records never trains on your data. It keeps a copy only briefly โ to do the reading and for routine safety checks โ then deletes it. It only ever reads to build your timeline and answer your questions.
- Backup copies roll off within six months โ the ordinary safety backups every service keeps, gone on the next rotation.
- We keep one small thing: an anonymized security log (things like sign-in times) with no health data in it, so the service stays safe and honest.
Can anyone at Family Stork see my records?
Here's the honest version. To build your timeline and answer your questions, our systems have to read your records โ so they aren't sealed away even from us the way an end-to-end encrypted message is, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we promise is how that access is handled: no one on our team browses your family's health records. A real person on our side reaches your data in only three narrow cases โ when you ask us for help and allow it, when we must investigate a security or abuse problem, or when the law compels us โ and every one of those is limited, logged, and never used to look around, sell, or advertise. We don't sell your data, we don't train AI on it, and we run no ads.
The one thing nobody can undo
If you already sent something out โ a share link, or an email or text notification โ that message lives in the other person's inbox or on their phone, and email can't be un-sent. Two things keep that safe: you can revoke any share link the moment you want, and our emails and texts never contain your medical details โ just "you have an update," with a link back into Family Stork, where the actual content stays.
What we never do
We never sell your data. We never show you ads. We never train AI on your records. Those aren't promises for today only โ they hold even if Family Stork is ever acquired.
