Delaware schools require specific immunization documentation before a child can enroll. This page covers the exact records Delaware law and regulations require — including a Hepatitis A kindergarten requirement — how to retrieve records from DELPHI, and what to do if documentation is incomplete at enrollment time.

Under 14 Del. C. §131 and 16 Del. Admin. Code §4202, a certificate of immunization is required for school enrollment in Delaware. The certificate is issued by a licensed healthcare provider or generated from the Delaware Immunization System (DELPHI).
The immunization certificate must show dated dose records for each of the following vaccine groups:
Delaware's three counties: Delaware has only three counties — New Castle, Kent, and Sussex — and all follow the same state immunization requirements. District-specific enrollment processes may vary, but the vaccine documentation is uniform statewide.
DELPHI is the Delaware Immunization System — the statewide registry where healthcare providers report administered doses. Contact your child's provider or the Delaware Division of Public Health to request a printed immunization history. A DELPHI printout is accepted by Delaware schools as official documentation.

If DELPHI doesn't have a complete record — especially for doses administered out of state — bring your existing records to your child's healthcare provider. They can review the documentation, verify dose dates, and provide a signed certificate that meets Delaware requirements.
Students entering 7th grade in Delaware need a Tdap booster (administered on or after the 10th birthday) and a MenACWY dose documented on record. Red Clay Consolidated, Christina, and Capital school districts all enforce this checkpoint — verify the doses are on record before enrollment.
Delaware's location — between Philadelphia, Baltimore, and the DC metro — means transfers from neighboring states are especially common. Bring your existing records to a Delaware-licensed provider. They review the documentation, verify dose dates, and create or update the Delaware immunization certificate. Schools accept any verifiable dose record from a licensed provider.
Under 14 Del. C. §131, Delaware allows provisional enrollment for students whose immunization series is in progress. The student must have received at least the first dose of each required vaccine and be on schedule to complete the remaining doses.

Red Clay Consolidated, Christina, Capital, Colonial, and Brandywine school districts all follow the state's provisional enrollment rules. Contact your school's health office for district-specific scheduling.
Every person gets one health story, and one private Family Stork email address every clinic already knows how to use. Give that address to your pediatrician in Wilmington, your child's school nurse in Dover, or a specialist at Nemours Children's Hospital — they send records to it, and the immunization history builds itself into one timeline.
When Delaware schools ask for the immunization certificate — or at the 7th-grade checkpoint — the dose dates are already filed. No calling the old provider, no re-requesting from DELPHI, no searching through a drawer of paper cards.
Family Stork gives every family member a private @families.familystork.com address. Providers send immunization records to it automatically. Delaware school forms, DELPHI updates, and every dose date — organized in one place, ready for every enrollment. $99/year — about $10/month.
Start your family's record — freeDelaware recognizes medical exemptions (signed by a physician) and religious exemptions (notarized affidavit filed by the parent/guardian). The exemption forms are available through the school or the Division of Public Health.
The official exemption process is described by Delaware DPH:
